What Is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is a state of consciousness one enters and leaves naturally all the
time during your day-to day experiences. It feels very much like day
dreaming i.e., the state between sleeping and waking. Hypnosis is a
guided fantasy. In this state of relaxation you are more open to
suggestions. In this state (also called alpha) your brain wave vibration
rate slows down, giving you access to your Subconscious Mind. While
your Conscious Mind is still completely aware of what is going on the
whole time, in this relaxed state of mind, your subconscious mind has
the ability to accept information given to it by the hypnotist. Hypnosis
is a valuable tool for self-empowerment and continuous personal growth.
Hypnosis is a state of heightened suggestibility. We are all influenced
by suggestions. Hypnosis uses this natural human process to change
negative patterns into positive patterns of behavior.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the art of utilizing this state to illicit positive change and improvement in behaviors and physical conditions
What is medical hypnotherapy?
A medical hypnotherapist has extensive training in the medical applications of hypnosis and writing hypnosis programs to effectively compliment standard medical procedures being used. Medical hypnotherapists often work closely with doctors & dentists to formulate specific programs to meet patient’s needs.
What is it like to be hypnotized?
Hypnosis is in between being wide-awake and asleep. You are aware of everything being said yet you are relaxed at the same time. Did you ever wake up in the morning before your alarm clock rings? You
could get up if you had to, and yet you are feeling so mellow, so
comfortable that you just want to enjoy relaxing for a while. We pass through that level upon awakening and then again at night before we go to sleep. It has been said that 15 minutes of hypnosis is equivalent to a 3-hour nap. After the hypnosis you will feel refreshed and comfortable.
How do I know if I can be hypnotized?
Another
common example of this naturally occurring state of mind is when you
are driving down the road, with your mind focused on some other task (a
day dream perhaps), and next thing you know, you have passed your next
turn. So now you know you can be hypnotized. You have done it literally
thousands of times. You did it yourself when you were daydreaming and
missed that turn, you have been hypnotized when you enjoyed a television
program, and you have followed hypnotic and posthypnotic suggestions
when you preferred some brand name that you saw repeatedly on
television.
Almost everyone can be hypnotized if they choose to. There are only four groups of people who cannot be hypnotized.
1. Very young children.
2. If you are under the influence of alcohol.
3. People who are severally mentally challenged.
4. Those who don’t want to be.
How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis is an effective process to bypass the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious mind. Like a computer, the conscious is programmed by the thoughts of our subconscious mind. Hypnosis
is the key that opens the door to our subconscious mind, promoting a
state of heightened awareness and suggestibility
How will hypnosis benefit me?

skillful, certified hypnotherapist can help you change your negatives
into positives and improve attitudes, habits, and self defeating
thoughts. With
